Urinary incontinence is a very common condition that may affect up to 40-50% of women. Various forms of urinary incontinence can include:
- Stress urinary incontinence: Involuntary loss of urine with activities such as coughing, sneezing, exercise, laughing
- Overactive bladder symptoms: Strong desire to pass urine which may be accompanied by not being able to make it to the toilet in time i.e. urge urinary incontinence
- Overflow incontinence: Leakage of urine associated with the bladder not being able to empty completely or properly
- Mixed urinary incontinence: Any combination of the above condition but more commonly a combination of stress urinary incontinence and urge urinary incontinence.
