Dr Yu Hwee Tan
Urogynaecologist

Dr Yu Hwee Tan completed her medical degree at the University of Auckland in New Zealand in 2008. She underwent specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in New Zealand, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Subsequent to this, she completed 3 years of subspecialty training in Urogynaecology in Brisbane, the Gold Coast as well as the Queensland Pelvic Mesh Service. The Queensland Pelvic Mesh Service is a quaternary state-wide multidisciplinary service for the management of complex patients with pelvic mesh complications.
Dr Tan is chair of the International Urogynaecology Association (IUGA) Fellows, Trainees and Early Career Professionals Committee which is committed to furthering education in the field of urogynaecology. She also regularly provides education for medical students, junior medical staff as well as medical professionals and has presented at international and local conferences. Dr Tan has authored multiple publications in peer reviewed journals.
Dr Tan works in private at Greenslopes Private Hospital as part of Queensland Pelvic Floor Services. She also works in public on the Gold Coast at Robina and Varsity Lakes Hospitals, as part of the urogynaecology department as well as the Queensland Pelvic Mesh Service.
Dr Tan offers up-to-date care which is of the highest standard to Gynaecology and Urogynaecology patients. She believes in the importance of optimising patient care by treating each patient as a unique individual.
Dr Tan provides conservative, medical and surgical treatment options for pelvic floor conditions including vaginal and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgical options.
